                                                      Pastoral people



  • The pastoral peoples were best know for domestication of animals and that were small with a major focus on family 
  • Changing climate caused  pastoral people began to migrate to new areas causing them to be very dependent on agricultural neighbors 
  • Arabs, Berbers, Turks and Mongols all of which come from pastoral origin created the large empires. Islam was one of the religion that derived from pastoral people
  • The Turks became the third major carrier of Islam 
  • Arabs and Persians also a major carrier of Islam
  • Some may say that ISIS can be seen as the 21 century version of the Mongols because of the fact they use similar tactics to the Mongols.  
  • For example ISIS uses fear every time the capture an area they line the people up and start shooting them one by one–they then upload the images to facebook to allow for their reputation to precede. 
  • ISIS claim to have God on their side. Also have similar military tactics they can move their fighters or armies very fast
  • The rise of the Mongol empire was largely due to Genghis Khan
  • He came to power by uniting many of the nomadic tribes of Northeast Asia. After founding the Empire and being proclaimed Genghis Khan
  •  He launched the Mongol invasions that conquered most of Eurasia
  • Campaigns initiated in his lifetime include those against the Qara KhitaiCaucasus, and KhwarazmianWestern Xia and Jin dynasties
